What about the straw vote that was taken at the April 30th meeting?

As part of the meeting in Red Deer, attendees were asked about their opinions regarding some of the options for uniting Albertans behind a principled, competent, united alternative to the NDP government.  These options included uniting behind one of the existing political parties, uniting behind a new political party, or staying with the status quo.  A straw vote was taken in which it was clear that the majority of those in attendance were in favour of uniting behind a new political party.  This is an important message to both the PC Party and Wildrose that, at present, neither party is seen by a substantial number of Alberta conservatives as being able to represent all conservatives in the province.  Alberta Can’t Wait believes that no political party is more important than our province, and that both parties need to unite to create a principled, competent, united alternative to the NDP government before the next election.
